Calgary clinic offers low-cost counselling services for Mental Health Week

Seeking help for mental health issues can be tough for many reasons. And cost is certainly a factor that can be daunting to those who are not able to afford the high prices of mental health services. However this week, for Mental Health Week, Calgary is piloting a low-cost, walk-in counselling at a clinic. Until May 13th, Serenity Now Wellness Foundation is offering 50 minute counselling sessions capped at $50 — with no need for an advance booking or a doctor's referral. This initiative alleviates both the financial and clinical pressure people face when trying to reach for professional help. And the association hopes that low-cost programs as such continues in the future, reaching out to a wider scope of people.
