Calgary man's 8 days of 'despair' waiting for help in ER not surprising, experts say

Harold Lovell, from Calgary, had to wait 8 days in "Frustration and despair" in a Calgary emergency department to get mental health treatment. Experts say this is not unique or even surprising. Rising numbers of Calgarians with similar challeneges are facing the same obstacles to get the care they need. This has to be a signal for better and timely care for mental health patients. Most people come into emergency care as the last resort, but with current situations, end up leaving with only frustration and further despair.
