How does COVID-19 spread?

COVID-19 spreads from person-to-person through respiratory droplets.

Respiratory Droplets: Respiratory droplets are produced when a person talks, coughs, or sneezes.

Transmission: the droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people nearby. If a person is infected with COVID-19, their respiratory droplets can contain the COVID-19 virus, which can get passed on to healthy people nearby, making them sick.

Physical Distancing: It is recommended that everyone avoids close contact with one another since this minimizes the risk of coming in contact with the respiratory droplets from someone infected with COVID-19. About 2m or 6ft is the recommended distance that you should put between yourself and other people

Remember: COVID19 can also be spread by people who are not showing symptoms so it is highly recommended that you do physical distancing whenever possible, even if you or the people you are with are not feeling sick
